Equinox in the woods

Today is the Autumn equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, thus I went to the woods.

This is one of the most magical times of the year, not only for the intense warm colours but because the veils of the faerie worlds thin creating magic everywhere.

When I arrived the dew glistening in the sun felt so welcoming, the leaves and undergrowth so fresh and vivid that I could not help myself but to fall into that kind of awake/dream state where words are redundant living space for the five senses to feast.

To my surprise, I found many mushrooms in different parts of the wood. Mushrooms are so tightly connected to trees in such important synergy of sharing that I feel great respect for them. I never pick them, only photograph them. When they are left to their own they will surprise you year after year with colour and jollines.

I do believe they knew I was coming because I was able to find them in places I had not found them before.

But the magic of the faeries did no stop there, I also captured an orb

and a very unusual rainbow

So I decided to share these with you all and spread the magic !
